Junior Commercial Advisor for Energy Team in Houston

About the Position

As a Junior Commercial Advisor based in Houston, you will work across our main energy subsector teams: wind, energy transition and hydrogen/PtX, biogas, re-industrialization, and green maritime and ports. Depending on ongoing demand from Danish companies, we expect you to support one or two of the sub-sector teams mainly, but you should be flexible and ready to support across all our subsectors. In addition to working with energy colleagues in Houston, you are expected to work closely with colleagues in Washington, DC, Toronto, Silicon Valley, and New York. In close collaboration with different Commercial Advisors, you will be focused on assisting Danish companies entering or expanding in the North American market and promoting Danish strongholds to North American partners and industry professionals. 

 

In this role, your primary focus will be:

  • Supporting the energy sub-teams by developing strategic steps in North America for Danish companies 
  • Planning and executing export promotion activities and projects across North America 
  • Promote and share the Danish energy models with North American stakeholders 
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with local stakeholders of relevance for Danish companies 
  • Consulting Danish companies and organizations looking to make their mark on the US and Canadian energy markets 
  • Help facilitate and develop collaborative opportunities such as flagship and pilot projects 
  • Help plan and execute workshops and delegations to and from Denmark 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant education 
  • Recently graduated or 1-2 years of work experience 
  • To succeed, it is helpful if you are a team player and can work closely and structured with colleagues 
  • A high sense of responsibility 
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken) 

 

Qualifications that are not required but helpful in order to succeed in the position

  • Knowledge of and/or experience from North America and/or the Danish energy sector 
  • Experience from consultancy 
  • Experience in an international environment

  • In addition, as the work pace is subject to fluctuation, the candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks and perform well under time pressure. 
  • Equally, managing and tracking activities in parallel is critical to succeeding in this role. 

 

Employment Conditions

  • We offer full-time employment for 6 months on a local contract with the possibility of extension
  • Your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week, with a large degree of flexibility in organizing your daily working hours. 
  • You will be entitled to 25 days of vacation per year. 
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant work experience, and proven work-related results.
