Danish Consulate in Sacramento, California
Situated at the confluence of the Sacramento and American rivers in the heart of California, Sacramento is a city steeped in history. Today, this history can be explored in Old Sacramento, a state historic park filled with gold rush-era buildings, shops, and museums, or Sutter’s Fort, now a museum and park, built by the city’s early settlers.
Sacramento is the state capital, and claims a population of 500,000 within the city limits and close to 1,500,000 for Sacramento County. The Capitol Building, which features a beautiful park and gardens, is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, along with the Crocker Art Museum, the oldest public art museum west of the Mississippi.
Of course, visitors may also want to simply stroll around the trendy shops and restaurants of the city’s hip Midtown, or enjoy the scenic beauty of Sacramento’s natural environment, which includes an arbor of trees only second to that found in Paris.
